Several Common Shelf Design Schemes

Jul 10, 2021

Shelves generally refer to various appliances such as cabinets, racks, cabinets, boxes, etc., in the business hall of a store to display and place commodities to be sold in the near future. In recent years, in order to adapt to the new situation and improve their competitiveness, stores across the country have made general adjustments to the display effects of business halls. Major merchandise displays such as shelves and counters have been modified, and some have been purchased. The new cabinet racks give the business hall a new look.

The shelf display products make full use of the business space compared to the street stalls. The purpose is to arrange the products in an orderly manner, so that customers can see at a glance, and transmit product information to customers as quickly as possible. Through the perceptual display of products, they can stimulate and strengthen the determination to buy; At the same time, it is also the basic operating facility for salespersons to provide customers with high-level services. Whether it is cabinet racks, cabinet racks, box racks, hanger racks, etc., they are all used to place different products, which are convenient for customers to choose. A group of shelves separates the different varieties for sale, forming a sales team, so that when customers walk into the store’s business hall, they can follow the channel network formed by the shelves and see the dazzling variety of goods operated by the store. Sales services are done directly with customers in front of the shelves.

The layout of the shelves is the main content of the layout of the business hall. The channel woven by the cargo structure determines the flow of customers. Whether vertical crossing, diagonal crossing, radial, free circulation or direct layout methods are used, they should be arranged. A certain flexibility is reserved for the change of business content, so that the form of shelf arrangement can be adjusted as needed. Therefore, all kinds of shelves in modern comprehensive shopping malls adopt a combined form, and only a few franchised stores adopt a fixed form in a small amount.

The distance between the shelves should ensure the smooth flow of passengers. It is not a problem for small shops to install shelves on the wall facing the door of the store. Large food stores, department stores, clothing stores, etc., must form the flow of people and business varieties according to the size of the store. To calculate the reasonable distance, generally speaking, the main channel should be between 1.6 and 4.5 meters, and the secondary channel should not be less than 1.2-2 meters.

Due to the different characteristics of various types of commodities such as shape, volume, value, etc., it is bound to put forward different requirements on shelves and other exhibition equipment in order to achieve the best display effect. Designing shelves according to various types of commodities is an endeavor in the design of business halls.

The particularity of commodities is also mainly expressed in whether they can be stacked, hung, vertically, horizontally, or in bulk. Some commodities are more sensitive to temperature and light, and glass refrigerated shelves are required. Some precious commodities have special safety measures for shelves. It is required that some products that can be directly contacted by customers should be designed to provide customers with sufficient convenience. Drawer shelves in traditional Chinese medicine stores, Bogu shelves in cultural relics stores, platform shelves in bookstores, box shelves in fruit stores, and hanger shelves in clothing stores are all designed according to the characteristics of their respective operating varieties.

The design of the shelf should ensure that there is an appropriate area and space for the products to be displayed on the shelves, so that the products can be effectively arranged in a horizontal arrangement to display their different varieties, and in a vertical arrangement to display different specifications and grades of the same variety. Appropriate space not only facilitates the vertical arrangement of goods, but also provides convenience for salespersons to put on shelves, put goods, and clean.
